Babysitting Flyer Ideas

There are a number of good babysitting flyer ideas you can use to make flyers that will grab the attention of parents and list the most important information parents are looking for.

Many babysitters spend a lot of time making cute babysitting flyers but leave out critical info that the parents really care about. What type of information should you include in your flyers? Here are the most important points to consider:

Your Name
The first thing on your babysitting flyer should be your name or the name of your business if applicable. Alternatively you could include a eye catching slogan like "Experienced Babysitter Available".

Contact Information
Including contact info is probably the most important piece of information to include in your babysitting flyers for obvious reasons: If you don't include a way for parents to contact you, you won't be getting many babysitting jobs! So be sure to include your phone number or your e-mail if preferred. Do not include your home address however, mainly for security reasons; instead you can put the general area where you live.

Experience
It's really important to list whatever babysitting experience you have whether it's from babysitting your neighbor's kids, babysitting your little brother, or any other type of position where you have cared for children, like a day camp leader for example. If you don't want to put a lot of details in your flyer, you could also simply state "3 years experience". Having experience can really help justify a higher babysitting hourly rate.

Certifications
If you've taken any recent first-aid courses or babysitting courses, be sure to highlight these in your flyer. This will really separate you between a casual babysitter and a professional babysitter. It basically shows parents that you take babysitting seriously and if parents know you are serious about childcare, they'll be more inclined to trust you with the care of their children.

Availability
If you're like most babysitters, you are not available 24 hours a day 7 days a week so be sure to list the days and times you are actually available. Also, never assume that parents won't expect you to work late hours (i.e. after 10pm) so if you are not able to work past a certain hour, be sure to state that.

Eye Catching Design
Lastly, but certainly not least, spend some time on the design of your babysitting flyers. They should stand out amongst other flyers so that parents will actually notice them and more importantly read them. Fortunately there are number of software applications for your computer with lots of cute babysitting flyer ideas for the design and layout. Alternatively however, there are a number great online flyer companies that will create professional looking flyers for you for very little cost.

Good comprehensive article re: what to put on your flyer. I thought I'd add a little quip on where to post flyers. When you're out shopping and doing errands pay attention when walking into a store, restaurant, coffeeshop ... to see if they have a community bulletin board.
